What is SwitchPay?

SwitchPay software solution represents a white-label technical payment gateway infrastructure, specifically designed for platforms, payment providers and merchants. SwitchPay uses a micro-services API-based approach to provide one integration to multiple payment providers (or switches) and enables clients to start processing and/or accepting payments easily. SwitchPay covers card, direct debit, mobile, wallet and alternative payment methods across the US and EU.

What problems does SwitchPay solve?

SwitchPay enables clients to start processing and/or accepting payments via a single API integration. It also fully supports marketplaces while significantly lowering the burden of regulatory requirements.

Who is SwitchPay intended for?

SwitchPay is designed specifically with platform and marketplace providers in mind. It supports multi-buyer - multi-seller scenarios but also could be used by regular PSPs (Payment service providers) and merchants to replace legacy payment systems.

SwitchPay as SaaS and/or on premise

SwitchPay is following a serverless approach - a fully-fledged, multi-stage deployment solution which allows deploying into any region supported by AWS cloud servers solution in a variety of configurations (production, staging, Q&A, development, etc.). Data is stored securely on AWS (e.g. Frankfurt S3 or any other depending on the client’s preferences).

Upon request, SwitchPay can be also deployed on the client's premises.

SwitchPay uses a multilayer user hierarchy to address all possible use cases with any kind of client. SwitchPay’ hierarchy system is tree-like, branch based and provides full customisation flexibility. Current hierarchy system, from top to bottom is organized in the following order: Organisation -> Branch -> Merchant -> Submerchant.

Here is a visual representation of the hierarchies:

SwitchPay Organisation Model

SwitchPay Organisations are the highest User hierarchy level. Organisations can create and manage all levels of users, directly or indirectly connected to them. Organisations are intended for companies which want to have distributed payments processing channels and usually manage several Branches, each supporting different geographies, currencies and merchants types. Organisations have access to view and manage the data and transactions of all their Branches, Merchants or Submerchants.

SwitchPay Branches are the second level in the hierarchy. Branches can create and manage only subordinate Merchants and Submerchants, can view and manage their data and transactions. If an Organisation has several Branches, then a Branch has no access to view or manage other Branches data, merchants and transactions.

SwitchPay Merchants are the third level in the hierarchy. Merchants are the entities, to which Buyers send money to buy goods or services. Merchants have no access to view data and transactions of other merchants (connected to the same or different Branch or Organisation). Merchants cannot create other Merchants. Merchants can create their own Submerchants. The latter needs to be verified by the Merchant’s Branch or Organisation.

SwitchPay Submerchants are fourth level in the hierarchy. Submerchants can be created only attached to a Merchant. Submerchants can only view and manage their data and transactions. They cannot view and manage Merchants’, Branches’ or Organisations’ data and transactions.
